I've been off radar for a bit, I know. Life has been busy.
But enough excuses. I'm currently in the middle of getting tracks ready for another album project. This one is looking a lot more acoustic in nature.
Phase one of every project I've done is always tracking the initial song acoustically, and getting a chance to listen to it and see what it needs.
I thought I'd let you in on that process.
Last week I tracked this song, along with several others, in a room with one mic just to get the song down. Turned out pretty well, I think.
Here it is. The song is called "Gypsy Queen", and it's a song I wrote for my lovely wife.

Okay, I'm just being jerky. I liked it, especially knowing your wife and imagining what she must've been going through. Youdaman.
Um, leave her and marry me? Just kidding. As always, it's amazing. Loved it, loved it. Only think I can even think of is I'm not sure about the you's at the end. First time I wasn't sure, second time I digged em. Can't wait to buy a CD.

Daniel, you are amazing. What a great song and tribute to Halle. You are a huge inspiration to me and I am sure, a lot of other people. Rock on My Brother!!

rachel,
thanks! by the way I forgot to mention.... i don't speak spanish... ;-)
I'm sure the last email you sent was chock full of updates, but it went right over my head.
I like the song a lot. It's real and it hits home for all of us who are in relationships and lean on each other to get thru the tough times. Well done, Daniel! Oh, and I like the high note towards the end. Didn't know you went up there!
thanks Savage. I agree. For me this song is mostly a statement of amazement that my wife found it in her to want to be with me. Still crazy to me.
That high note?... I had the studio engineer kick me in the balls right towards the end of the track. Works like a charm.
haha i always forget...sorry! it was just for a fundraiser for sarah's operation...how's everything going btw? where can i buy your songs?? or vote for you in any current competition?
oh, this is rachel...
